Clinics with Bruno Rosa

Several CSC members already work with local teaching pro Bruno Rosa, and we’re excited to bring him in to offer group clinics for CSC members! Clinics will be 90 minutes, with a max of 8 participants. The clinics will be at two levels:

  • Advanced Beginner/Intermediate: Capable and independent players (think 2.0 to 3.0 – this clinic is not appropriate for someone who doesn’t know the rules.)
  • Intermediate/Advanced: Plays frequently, already has an understanding of the core strategies of pickleball (think 3.0 to 4.0)

See the shop below to select the level that works for you. Clinics involve a combination of teaching/demonstration, drills, and supervised games to put the new skills into play and receive immediate feedback. Backup location in case of a bad weather forecast is the Pickleball Warehouse.

Rolling Ladder League

Join us on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 pm for a “rolling” pickleball ladder league. This low-commitment format allows you to decide week-to-week whether you want to participate or not, as your schedule allows. You can join the ladder at any time! (See the bottom of this section for more info on registration.)

There is currently no cost for this activity.

What are the benefits of a ladder league?

  • You don’t need to find a partner; new 4somes or 5somes are created every week, based on previous playing results.
  • The ranking system groups players of similar levels, so you’re always benefiting from a challenging game.
  • You can opt out for a week without impacting anyone else or letting down a partner.

How does it work?

  • We have a running, ongoing master list of ranked players (all players who have ever participated).
  • Each week, up to 15 people can register to play that Wednesday. (Please don’t just show up! Pre-registration is still required each week.)
  • We group the players for that week into three fivesomes – Court 1 (5 highest ranked players as of that week), Court 2 (middle 5), and Court 3

Within each fivesome:

  • The players play round robin during the time slot — five 11-point games, each player has one bye
  • Each player’s cumulative score from their four games this week (not past weeks) are used to rank people within their five-some
  • Players move up or down the master ranked list based on their performance that week
  • Repeat it all the following week with whoever is registered the following weeks
  • If games finish early, players can stay after their games to engage in open play
  • You will be able to view the rankings online via a shared Google Spreadsheet

What is the skill level?

  • This is an intermediate and beyond ladder. No instruction is provided; the expectation is that participants will be aware of all rules and be capable of playing independently. The point of ladders is for everyone to receive challenging and well-matched games, so players who routinely cannot win a game on the bottom court will be expected to pursue more lessons and experience before rejoining the ladder. If you have questions about fit, please reach out to racketsports@communityswimclub.com.

How do I express interest and register for a given week?

  • Pre-requisites: To begin participating and be added to the master list of all players, please fill out this form.
  • Ongoing: The registration for each week will open one week ahead of time, on the preceding Wednesday. Up to 15 players can register. To register, just navigate to the “Front Pickleball Court” on correct day on the Court Reservation page. (If you do not see an option to register, confirm that you are actually logged in to your member account.) You can also register other members of your family. To assist with smooth functioning of the ladder, arrive by 6 pm — at 6:05, we will assign groups and begin play, and won’t be able to accommodate latecomers.

Blacklight Pickleball Night

Join us on the courts on Saturday, July 12, 2025 as part of the annual Campout/Glow Party! From 8:30 pm to 10 pm, the courts will be transformed into a blacklight pickleball space. No RSVP necessary — stop by for as long as you’d like, and we’ll have equipment to borrow. Neon and white clothing is encouraged so you can take full advantage of the blacklight fun!

Past Events
Beginner "Quick Start" Clinic
Ninety minutes of instruction and drills to learn the basics of pickleball! Children ages 11 and up are welcome so long as a parent is also participating. CSC will provide paddles and balls. (Given the modest cost and very limited slots, we cannot offer refunds unless your spot resells before the session.)

Register for Saturday, June 7th at 3 pm

Couples Pickleball
Join us on Friday, June 20th at 6 pm for a couples pickleball night! All levels from novice to advanced are welcome. This is a particularly good event for "mixed ability" couples who otherwise find it hard to integrate their partner into their regular playing groups. No registration required.
