Overview of Applying to CSC

Families considering membership are welcome to contact the membership director at membership@communityswimclub.com for more information or to arrange a tour of the swim club.

Which membership type is right for you?

1. General Membership: If you are new to CSC, most families will apply for General Membership. This membership class includes the General Member, their spouse, and unmarried children under the age of 25 who reside with the General Member. The 2026 annual dues are $835. In additional, there is a $100 non-refundable application fee. If accepted, the family pays a non-refundable $350 initiation fee, and a $835 bond fee. The bond fee is refundable upon membership termination when the bond is re-sold.
   
2. Masters Membership: If you are new to CSC, have no children 18 or younger in the house, and you (or at least one of the spouses) are 62 years or older, you are eligible for Masters Membership. (Please be aware that this membership class has a long wait list, and many applicants will choose to accept an offer of General Membership while waiting for a Masters spot to open up.) The 2026 annual dues are $425 for a couple and $265 for a single. In addition, there is a $100 non-refundable application fee. If accepted, the family pays a non-refundable $350 initiation fee.
3. Senior Membership: If you have been a current CSC General Membership family for at least 10 seasons, have no children 18 or younger, and you (or at least one of the spouses) are 55 years or older, you can apply for a conversion to Senior Membership. This membership benefits from reduced dues, but you are no longer a bond-holding family. To apply, follow the procedures for forfeiting your bond and include the paper application for Senior Membership. No new application fee, reference letters, or initiation fee is required. The 2026 dues are $368 for a couple and $215 for a single.
   

Application Procedures

Our application process is handled online via this website.

1. All applicants to General or Master membership should collect electronic reference letters from three current CSC families.
   
2. Once you have your letters, you can begin the application process on our website by purchasing the $100 application fee product on this page.
3. Once you checkout, you will receive two emails automatically from our site: one confirming your purchase with a link to an online application form (this is where you will fill in your info and list your references), and another reiterating the overall application process. Please make sure to fill out the application.
4. Send all three reference letters as a bunch to membership@communityswimclub.com.
5. Once your online application is fully completed and reference letters received, your application will be forwarded to the CSC board for consideration.
6. Once your application is approved by the board, you will be notified that you are officially on our waitlist.
7. (One final step for Master Membership only: applicants must send a copy of ID establishing their age as 62+ to Community Swim Club, PO Box 11485, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.)
8. Upon your receipt of an offer for membership to CSC, you have two (2) weeks to accept this offer and submit payment of the initiation fee, bond fee, and annual dues to CSC. Prorated dues may be available for membership spots offered during the season.
